Happy New Earth Year

Happy New Earth Year, Earthlings! Thanks for all of your help this year.  If you’re a Martian, you’ll have to wait another few months  (June 18, 2015 to be exact) to celebrate Mars Year 32 drawing to a close . That’s because Mars takes nearly twice as long ( 687 days) as the Earth to complete one revolution around the Sun. To mark another Earth year of Planet Four, we have gathered together some favorite images suggested on Talk.  Enjoy!

Very Good. By the way, us Martians will have a big Fireworks display on your 18th June (our 62nd March) just to confuse the ‘Earthlings’.

Can I still join the Planet Four project? I joined Zooniverse, but whenever I try to log in to Planet Four it says “Sign in failed.” I think this is a great project and would like to help out!

Also have you tried resetting your password to make sure you’re putting the text in?

    Meg,

Apologies, I lost this link and could not find my way back to this blog page. To answer your questions above:

I have not been contacted by the Zooniverse development team. My user ID is “Tanelorn”

My browser is Google Chrome v 38.0.2125.104. My operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit. I do not have a problem logging into any other Zooniverse project, and have spent hours on the Solar Stormwatch project.

I have cleared my cache and restarted both my computer and browser many times over the past two weeks. Again, I am not having problems on any other project site.

I continue to get the message: “Sign in failed.” Very frustrating.

    Thanks,
    Carl

Sorry for your troubles Carl, happy to try to assist.

The most common reason people have trouble logging into our projects is they disable third-party cookies. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en explains how to reach this setting in Chrome. Make sure the “Allow local data” option is selected and the “Block third-party cookies” options in unchecked.

Let me know if this doesn’t help!

      • C Miller says :

You are correct, third-party cookies are the problem. I allow your site’s cookies, but I have third-party cookies blocked. I have no problem with getting cookies from the sites I visit, but I am not really interested in changing this setting to allow unknown third-party cookies. If I understand correctly from that webpage you linked, I cannot selectively allow third-party cookies from just one website.

Fortunately, I do not have this problem on the other Zooniverse sites have worked on. Thanks for your help.
